My fitness journey got started as a toddler. I took dance classes all my life in various styles, some for fun and some competitively. I moved to the Springfield, MO area to go to school at Missouri State University. While there, I really struggled with finding a fitness routine or style that I enjoyed.
Fast forward, I married my best friend and biggest supporter, Matt. One evening while hanging out with friends, Darby asked if I would go to a TRX class with her. It was new to Springfield at the time so we didn’t know much about it but decided to check it out. After that class, I realized I had found something I could enjoy! Several months later, we were headed to St. Louis to get TRX certified. Then, TRX expanded to other class formats. Fast forward again, and here I am many years later teaching at Darby’s studio, Physique Fitness.
When you come to a class at Physique, it is an escape from your day and the rest of the world. It is your time to take care of you, physically and mentally. My goal as an instructor is always for you to walk away feeling better than you did when you walked in the doors. I want you to get a challenging workout and, ultimately, walk away feeling refreshed.
After several years of teaching, you start to realize how much the clients become family. I can’t scroll through Facebook or Instagram without seeing my current or former clients with their mates or their children or grandchildren. We celebrate their successes with them and are there for them when they are working through tough times. I absolutely love and am incredibly grateful for our Physique family, the staff and the clients!
